Braille Lightweight Battery (06/12/04)
Want an easy way to shed 20+ pounds off of the front end? The Braille battery does just that. It weighs in at 11.5 pounds and starts just as well as the stocker (which weighs 30+ pounds). The kit as supplied by King of Imports comes with everything necessary to use the stock mounting bolts and stock location.
| Here is the stock heavyweight battery. It's a pain to remove if you need to get to the spark plugs or back of the headlights. Not only that it weighs a lot! | ![]() |

Now compare the stock battery with the Braille. This thing is tiny - when the battery arrived via UPS, I thought they sent the wrong battery. The box was so small I couldn't believe it. |
| The installation is very easy. Disconnect and remove the old battery. Install the posts on the new battery and place it sideways in the engine bay (do not reuse the stock battery tray). The positive end will have a bigger post and goes nearest the washer reservoir. Place the supplied foam pad on top of the battery and put the stock cross piece on upside down. Hook the stock bolts into the base under the battery. Insert the bolts through the cross piece, add the spacers, and tighten down with the stock nuts. Reconnect the battery and you're done. | ![]() |
